Mike is the Executive Vice President of Mortgage Warehouse, a position he has held since 2007. With a focus on maintaining Mortgage Warehouse’s position as an industry leader in delivering exceptional mortgage pricing to homeowners, Mike collaborates closely with secondary market investors. His diverse range of responsibilities includes underwriting decisions, marketing, pricing, and ensuring compliance with State and Federal laws.
Despite his executive role, Mike remains one of Mortgage Warehouse’s top-producing loan originators. He dedicates time to work directly with homebuyers and homeowners, earning a reputation for his patient and informative approach in helping them leverage today’s mortgage rules for financial advancement.
With over 20 years of residential mortgage experience and an impressive track record of over $1 billion in mortgage funding, Mike is a seasoned professional. He has received numerous top-producing awards, including the Loan Originator of the Year during the mortgage boom years from 2001 to 2006. His expertise led him to be selected as a role model to develop employees by one of the fastest-growing mortgage companies in America during that time.
Throughout his career, Mike has mentored over 300 new loan originators, processors, underwriters, and managers. By 2005, he played a pivotal role in establishing mortgage operations in 16 major cities spanning from Orlando, FL to Denver, CO. Since joining Mortgage Warehouse in 2007, Mike has been instrumental in its growth and success.
Amid the challenging years following the 2008 housing crisis in 2009 and 2010, Mortgage Warehouse stood out as the only mortgage company in Louisville’s 50 fastest-growing companies, as recognized by Business First. Mike played a critical role in transforming Mortgage Warehouse from a mortgage broker to a lender that funds its own mortgage loans. This transformation laid the groundwork for highly sought-after no closing cost loan options, positioning Mortgage Warehouse as a price leader in the market. Notably, WHAS radio hosts Terry Meiners and Tony Cruise endorsed Mortgage Warehouse during this time.
In 2012, Mike relocated from Louisville, KY to Fort Myers, FL to spearhead the company’s expansion in Florida. Mortgage Warehouse’s lending volume surpassed $120 million in 2016. Mike’s expertise and contributions earned him recognition as one of the top mortgage professionals in Southwest Florida by Gulfshore Life Magazine in 2017, and in 2018, Forbes acknowledged him among Southwest Florida’s Market Leaders.
The Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021 led to historically low U.S. mortgage rates, propelling Mortgage Warehouse to fund over $300 million locally. As the housing market experienced an inventory crunch in 2022 and 2023, turning new home purchases into competitive bidding wars, Mike set new records for purchase loans at the company. Real estate professionals and homebuyers entrusted him to navigate timely mortgage approvals in one of the nation’s most challenging housing markets. Notably in 2021, Wells Fargo Bank ranked Mortgage Warehouse #1 in the nation out of more than 800 correspondent lenders for the quality of loan.
Mike continues to serve homeowners, homebuyers, and real estate agents in both the greater Louisville, KY, and Southwest Florida mortgage markets through referrals. He holds mortgage licenses in Kentucky, Indiana, and Florida, having successfully passed the National S.A.F.E. mortgage exam and five other state-specific exams. Additionally, Mike has completed Master Financial Coach training with best-selling author Dave Ramsey at Ramsey Solutions in Franklin, TN. He is also a direct endorsed mortgage loan underwriter by the Federal Housing Administration.
